I’m not sure that a mix of European ethnicities qualifies as mixed.
I agree
LorMarie Yes it does, this list focuses on ethnic mixes – not exclusively racial mixes.
True but Kate Upton? Ethnically those countries are similar and close together to boot. That’s like saying you’re mixed if your mom is from Georgia and your dad is from Utah.
You can say the same about all African nations then. However it would be incorrect. Gayans aren’t the same as Somalians. Just like Italians aren’t the same as polish or Hungarians. They all come from different tribes. Just informing you that all Europeans have different tribal ancesters and are not the same. That’s just ignorant American talk.
I’m confused with beyonce’s heritage. She used to be African American – Spanish, then it was African American-Native American, then African American-French, now it’s African America-Irish and Creole (which is of French descent). Hmmmm
vmoorec All we can really say about Beyonce is that she is biracial and possibly triracial. She is clearly part Black and part White. If she is indeed Creole, then she may be part Native American as well. The Creole community was and is a melting pot of French, West African, and Native American people and culture.
Why does every Caribbean island have to start with “afro”….its 2014….and what a cope out with the “African American” im sure that could be traced better. …seriously! !
danz11 Because you asked that question, that’s why. Some people want to erase African heritage from the equation.
Why is jennifer lopez and deepika on this list…they arent mixed
Jlo kinda looks mixed but you can obviously tell deepika is indian
sweet_ks Jennifer Lopez is Puerto Rican. Most Puerto Ricans are biracial or triracial. Almost all of them are part Spanish (White) and part Puerto Rican Native (Native American). Many of them also have African (Black) ancestors who were brought to Puerto Rico to work on plantations owned by the Spanish. Pretty much every Puerto Rican you meet is mixed with two or three races.
Deepika is Indian, but the Indians come in many shades. It’s a complicated situation and I don’t know enough about it to say anything.
However, some of the girls here are not mixed, they are White. For example, Katy Perry is listed here because she is English, Irish, German and Portuguese. Kate Upton is English, Dutch, and Scottish. Kat Von D is Spanish, German, and Italian. Those girls are not “mixed,” because their ancestry is full European and they do not belong on this list in my opinion.
That is a very rude comment you made about katy Perry.Consider the fact i’ve been called a white girl yet my dad was half Portuguese. I may not be full Portuguese but im very proud of my ancestry and maybe she is too. Those of us who love our ancestors care more than to be so close minded. ; )
Gabrielle Union is not mixed…
Just because someone black has slanted eyes, does not mean we’re asian? That means people from Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya are all have asian because of their high cheek bones and slanted eyes.
FFS…shes African-American..the end.
YmaniWade Actually Gabrielle Union is mixed with Asian…she confirmed it herself. And because of invasion and trading with different countries, many African (particularly around the coastal region) are mixed depending on what nation traded/invaded. There are people of Madegascar who are technically African, but ethnically they are a mix of black, french and asian (even the languages become mixed). You should research before you claim what is or what isn’t a mix…
LiberianAdonis ccy25 YmaniWade Oprah’s Next Chapter (Along with Phylicia Rashad, Viola Davis, Alfre Woodard). Just b/c you didn’t see it, doesn’t mean it never happened. Similarly…just b/c you don’t SEE an Asian influence in someones phenotype…doesn’t mean it’s not in their genes. Halle Berry is brownskin and is a Black woman (and this is how she sees herself). But her mother is CLEARLY White…which is a part of Halle’s background. Just b/c she doesn’t LOOK like it, doesn’t mean she’s not. Furthermore, I feel Gabrielle Union is a good actress and I enjoy watching her work, there’s no AGENDA there.
I love how you said Gabrielle Union “confirms” this but didn’t quote a source. In other words, a lie. I’ve seen both her parents. Both look like your typical African Americans, no Asian influence at all. You added her to push some agenda you have. PROVE where she claimed to be part filipina. It’s never happened.
I love how Beyonce is mostly black but for some reason people like to hype it up like she’s biracial or some shit. What’s the agenda with this?
