We Are One: Tour and Documentary
I am blessed. I spend time with the wonderful staff of Mixed Nation every week. Luke, Michelle, Antecia, and Lai-Ling are dedicated, smart, thoughtful and hilarious colleagues and to spend time with them traveling the country to meet the Mixed Nation family would be a dream come true.
But this tour isn’t about me or them; the We Are One: Tour and Documentary is about you.
After five years of building this movement and connecting with our online community – 400,000+ strong and growing—we know it’s time for the next big thing. We want to get from behind the computer and go to where the people/stories are. With all that is going on in the world, we feel strongly that it is time for Mixed Nation to show up, stand up, and step up. Not just the staff, but all of us!
You know how we do! Thousands of you like, share and comment on our daily posts whether it’s an adorable baby, a beautiful couple or a proud mixed person from around the world. I don’t know about you, but when I click that thumbs up on Facebook underneath a photo submitted by parents so proud of their beautiful newborn, or by a guy who says the Mixed Nation page makes him feel connected, or by a mother whose daughter doesn’t see her own beauty, I feel like I am making a difference. It matters to that person or family, and it matters to me as a member of this community. I am validated by the presence and support of Mixed Nation.
It’s not a beauty contest. It’s not random. It’s not casual. To say, “I see you. I hear you. I AM you.” is life changing. That is the beauty of social media. It allows us to build relationships, highlight the power of love, and send support to people all over the world. It is a powerful tool in promoting harmony and love. At Mixed Nation, you can see yourself and be yourself. That’s what Mixed Nation is all about and why we hope you will support the We Are One: Tour and Documentary.
Imagine the impact we could have together! There is power in this movement beyond posting and liking photos. It’s time Mixed Nation steps up to the plate, and we need your support. By touring the country, collecting your stories and creating an inspirational documentary that focuses on the power of coming together, we can make a difference to so many more people and families. Who better than us to join hands and hearts with one another and show that We Are One – one world of human beings of all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds united in mutual respect and love.
We need your support to make this happen! Please contribute what you can and share: “We Are One” Kickstarter Page
